According to the report, Michelle Obama was at a rally & the staff for Barack Obama was asking for more white people during the event….
Why did they want more white people?

The Tartan’s correspondents observed one event coordinator say to another, “Get me more white people, we need more white people.” To an Asian girl sitting in the back row, one coordinator said, “We’re moving you, sorry. It’s going to look so pretty, though.”

Why Do People Think You Have To Be Scottish, Or Even Irish To Wear A Kilt?
I have always thought it was odd how people inside & out of Scotland think only Scots are the only ones entitled to wear Kilts.
There are more Americans wearing Kilts these days, at least in their own backyards, & most are hardly or not even celtic. I have seen pictures of black folks, & asian americans sporting kilts, particularly if they had served in the Military (if they like Kilts & feel like bravehearts).
Every conversation I have had about Kilts (I have five myself) is about my Scottish ancestry. All these same folks always look puzzled when I tell them I have no Scot in me. I do have a wee-bit Irish, besides principally being Austrian, Italian, Swedish, & Galecian (the celts from Spain). Then these folks look even more puzzled when I tell them I am bagpiper. So then they take me as being a lover of Scottish culture, until I tell them I mostly play none traditional tunes, at least non-regimental stuff as I like what is coming out of Australia right now with Mark Saul who makes the GHB sing. In short, I don’t get off playing Scotland the Brave.
Knowing the background of Scotland, Kilts, Tartans & Bagpipes, all these items are not distinctly Scottish, historically speaking. Bagpipes were developed in Northern Africa, used in Roman times, & then perfected by the Scots, mainly though the American folk revival of the 1970’s & 90’s. Kilts are nothing more than perfected dress from the middle ages, though the Victorian period. Tartan, a glorified talisman, are still controversial even today which is actually authentic, & what is original. Even in the House of Stewart, the register of tartans has holes in the history.
Scottish history is glorious, & should be something remembered, but in modern times, why must someone who like Kilts & Bagpipes, that are not Scottish in nature, be held to some silly notion that they should be, or no be apart of them. Maybe there is a possibility that we non-Scots don’t really need a Tartan, it might look like tartan, but is not, or be camo or black non-wool type kilts to be acceptable?

What Type Of Shoes Do People Wear At Private Schools?
For mine, they have to be all black & the heel at a maximum can be 2 “. They also have to be worn with black socks that are almost to the knee or tights, & a kilt & blazer. I’m just not sure what type of shoes to get. Flats? Heels? Links to pictures would also be very appreciated.

What Would The Irish And The Scottish People Say About This?
Hopefully in the near future I will get a chance to visit Ireland & Scotland. What would the locals say about an American wearing a kilt? Would they be saying, another god damn American trying to Irish or Scottish. Since it would be a non traditional kilt i.e. made out of leather or blue jeans like the kilts at utlikilts.com sells & not tartan. Or would you not even bat an eyelash at it?

They will not try to talk to you, maybe, but you can feel their gazes. Even though you wear normally, they will see you because you are not a Korean.
Koreans are more interested in other’s privite things than Americans, so it sometimes makes you feel uneasy or kind of insulted during staying there. It is a cultural gap you should undertake.

Most of the early people of Europe & Northern Africa wore kilt-like skirts because they were cheaper & easier to make. The Scots, like their bagpipes were merely perfected to their taste, & now their national symbol because of their contributions.
These days it seems Americans enjoy the kilt more than Scots who only don for special occasions. It seems that pants are great for working in, but there is nothing more comfortable in all seasons, than a good old fashion wool kilt. It just feels right.
