I guess plaid is a new fad. It is really cute, & it helps that every store sells them. Also, if you wear solid colors a lot, they are a great way to spice up your wardrobe. And between 10- 30 dollars, they are a good investment. It also helps that they have many sizes & colors & lengths available. If people want the latest trend, everyone can have them, you don’t need to be a size 0 to fit.!

I have a handpainted plate that I had autographed in sharpie. I want to preserve the signature by using a clear spray lacquer overtop, but which one should I use that will stick to the ceramic & not dissolve the sharpie? It does not need to be food safe; just for display.
I looked at Krylon Preserve It & a Plaid brand laquer…would either of those work?

The Scots have been using plais forever. They have even named the different patterns. When my dad when to Scotland, he found a “Chilton” tartan (or plaid print) for me. Chilton is my middle name & has been passed down in my family for 5 generations.

We live in an apartment, & we are not allowed to paint the walls. It is a very small, akward room to work with. We have a couch that is giving me so much trouble, & my mum wants to keep it, so I am kind of working around that. It is kind of a christmas red & green plaid with dark blue & plum & mustard…I really wanted to cover it, but couch covers are so expensive, & I am no good at sewing. The wall next to the couch wall is a huge, beautiful window, the best part of the room, & next to that there is a door to the patio. The door is kind of in the corner, & on the other side of the corner is the door to my mum’s room. The patio door opens in, so when it is open it completely covers the entrance to my mum’s room. One more thing: We have a big, round wooden dining room table, which my mum also wants to keep. Right now it is sitting in front of the window, & sticks out to about the middle of the room (the couch is one of the seats). Thanks so much for the ideas!
